Small Axe Farm is a 3 acre organic vegetable farm in its second year of operation. Small Axe Farm moved from Dover to Millis at the beginning of the 2010 season and will be offering 50 summer CSA shares for the 2011 season. A roadside stand will also be set up for retail sales on Rt. 115 between the months of May and October.
To reserve your share; please visit the “Sign Up!” page.
NEW SPECIAL OFFER: Shares purchased before December 25th will cost only $575!
Shares will be offered from early May through late October. The cost of one share is $600. Throughout the season you can expect to receive this value in vegetables. Each share will pick up their produce at the farm once per week. Coining the phrase *Salad Share*, SAF will be offering a selection heavy on leafy salad items and ”staples”, such as zucchini and tomatoes, in the season of 2011. This will change in coming seasons, as the farmer loves to dig potatoes! Customers will still receive beloved crops such as beets, carrots and onions, but can expect to see these crops with more frequency in following seasons. SAF will also offer a U-Pick flower and herb section, along with various other U-pick crops such as beans, peas and cherry tomatoes, which will change on a weekly or monthly basis as they are available.
Choose to make your weekly pick up day: Monday, Wednesday or Friday. Stand will be open 12noon-7pm all three possible pick-up days.

Small Axe Farm will be relying on the CSA model to aid in its capital purchases over this fall and spring. Payment for your share will be accepted Sept. 15th-Feb. 15th. A non-refundable deposit of $100 will reserve your share. Members then have the option of paying in two installments of $250 before Feb 15th. Cooperation in this department is very much appreciated in this first season, as there will be no time in the farmer’s schedule during the growing season (March 1st on) for paper work or billing!
Check back here for updates! The farmer will be scheduling an orientation in April to introduce herself to CSA members and show them the ropes when it comes to parking at the field, and retrieving vegetables from the CSA stand etc.
If you are interested in supporting your local food movement, eating healthy and delicious food during the growing season, and investing in a new sustainable small organic farm during its early years- this is a great opportunity! Don’t forget U-pick! And some new friendly faces…
Hope to see you in the spring!
